Al Fresco Webinars

The City of Los Angeles launched the LA Al Fresco program to support restaurants during the early stages of the pandemic. The program allowed restaurants to continue serving patrons outdoors while indoor dining was restricted, and became a lifeline for these local businesses. As the need for pandemic restrictions has passed, LA Al Fresco proves to be a popular program that repurposes public space in support of community and economic vitality of neighborhoods.

In response to the program’s popularity last year, the City Council adopted an ordinance making LA Al Fresco a permanent program. As stewards of the public right-of-way, LADOT embraces outdoor dining’s potential to improve our public spaces with pedestrian-friendly streets that support local businesses and community character. As we move forward with this new program, it is essential that we support local businesses by providing them the tools and resources they need to thrive.

LADOT is offering webinars every first Wednesday of the month until June 2024, designed to bring awareness of how the Al Fresco Program works and provide practical guidance for participating businesses. Whether you are a restaurateur seeking to expand your outdoor seating or a community organizer interested in activating public spaces, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of Los Angeles. Please visit the LA Al Fresco web page for details about the program and how to apply. Let’s continue to build a city where innovation, collaboration, and community thrive.
