Traffic Volume
Counts
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation
collects traffic volume data on requested roadway segments
within the City of Los Angeles. The traffic data provides
a snapshot of existing traffic volumes in an area for engineering
and traffic studies conducted by the Department.
Data obtained from the Department of
Transportation’s traffic survey section is made available
to the public for a variety of other uses. Measurements of
traffic activity, and the volume of potential customers already
attracted to a neighborhood, are invaluable to developers
and businesses seeking to expand into the area. Planners use
the data to identify traffic trends, which can offer insights
into future traffic patterns.
