TIPS & FAQ's Traffic Volume Counts

Current Count Data

LADOT keeps an index of all traffic volume counts conducted during the year in a “Count Book.”

Counts conducted from January 1, 2009 to the present can be found in the 2009-10 Traffic Volumes Book. Please search for the desired street(s) using your computer’s default Find function (CTRL+F). A hyperlink to the detailed count is provided in the "count date" column.

If you cannot find a recent count of your desired location, try looking for the count in past years in the 2001-08 Traffic Volume Book. Counts conducted after January 1, 2007 have hyperlinks to the count summary. Counts conducted prior to January 1, 2007 may be found in our archives.

Troubleshooting and FAQ’s.

If you do not see a specific intersection listed in the above two books, then LADOT does not have count data for that intersection. Most likely, no traffic count was conducted there, or the count is not within the boundaries of the City of Los Angeles.

You may also try using a Thomas Guide Map to find nearby intersections, and search those locations for available data.
