The Los Angeles Department of Transportation oversees private businesses’ pipeline operations in the City. Since pipelines must be routed underneath City streets, LADOT engineers ensure pipelines do not conflict with transportation operations.

		Pipeline franchises are granted to private entities in order to transport:
