Planning & Development Review

TRANSPORTATION PLANNING & POLICY
The LADOT Transportation Planning & Policy section develops transportation plans and programs that advance sustainable mobility in the City.  Transportation Planning & Policy staff coordinate with the Department of City Planning to update the City’s Mobility Element of the General Plan, Transportation Specific Plans, and Community Plans.  Additionally, this team contributes to state, regional, and local transportation planning efforts, led by Caltrans, SCAG, and Metro, to address transit station connectivity, goods movement, high-speed rail, sustainability, transportation finance, congestion management, congestion pricing, and other projects.

The LADOT Development Review section includes three geographically focused offices (Metro, Valley and West Los Angeles) providing several fee-based and non-fee services, including building permit review and sign-off, site plan and driveway plan review, project condition clearance, site access and circulation consultation, transportation specific plan compliance, investigation of street vacation requests, and the review of transportation impact studies and environmental impact reports which typically involve the design and evaluation of transportation mitigations.
