LADOT celebrates Earth Day With Watts Rising

Over the weekend LADOT joined Watts Rising to celebrate Earth Day. Those who attended enjoyed a fun day filled with food, music, tree giveaways, and many more activities and resources. LADOT was in attendance displaying one of our Zero Emission DASH buses.

The Watts Rising Collaborative is made up of 40+ organizations which include LADOT, The Mayor’s Office, CD 15, and others. In 2019, the Watts Rising Collaborative was awarded a $33.25 million Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Grant from the State of California’s Strategic Growth Council (SGC) and additionally leveraged over $160 million, to fund community-identified infrastructure projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Watts and improve the economic and public health of Watts residents. LADOT received $1.7M to fully electrify the DASH Watts route and obtained five electric bus chargers, which will result in cleaner air, less noise pollution, and a more comfortable ride for Watts.

Final Chance To Give Your Feedback For The DTLA Mobility Investment Program

Final Chance To Give Your Feedback For The DTLA Mobility Investment Program

The Downtown Los Angeles Mobility Investment Program (DTLA MIP) builds upon previous planning and community engagement efforts in Downtown Los Angeles to prioritize inclusive, equitable, sustainable, and healthy growth for DTLA. The DTLA MIP is a roadmap for the City of Los Angeles to invest in transportation infrastructure and programs that support a safe and reliable travel experience for all.

Over the past 3 years, LADOT engaged over 100 businesses and 600 stakeholders throughout DTLA. You or your neighbors may have participated in our on-street tabling events, surveys, stakeholder meetings, and more. The draft DTLA priority project list incorporates what we heard during this process as projects and programs that will increase transportation safety and connectivity in and around DTLA.

LADOT is accepting any final comments you might have on the draft DTLA priority project list by email to ladot.dtlamip@lacity.org by May 8, 2023.

LADOT Now Hiring Crossing Guards

LADOT Now Hiring Crossing Guards

LADOT is now accepting applications for new Crossing Guards. Crossing guards keep students safe traveling to and from school and help educate and instill safe, alert walking behaviors in young Angelenos. Our crossing guards are placed at schools throughout the city and help provide experience and judgment to help children navigate a school crossing, while also increasing the visibility of their presence to drivers.

If you are interested in applying for a crossing guard position you can visit the website for the application and instructions on how to apply.
