Mayor Garcetti and Minister Harrison Sign Historic Memorandum to Promote Sustainable Transportation and Innovation

The City of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Minister Trudy Harrison of the United Kingdom’s Department for Transport signed a precedent-setting Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to share best practices to reduce emissions and adopt more sustainable methods of transportation infrastructure.

The recently signed MOU will enable the City of Los Angeles and the UK Department of Transportation to share and collaborate on new technologies and methods to reach their respective climate commitments on emissions reductions in the transportation sector. This MOU is the first signed by both parties after the recent United Nations Conference of Parties (COP) in Glasgow. This MOU builds on the commitments made at COP26 to accelerate the transition to zero-emission vehicles.
