LAnow, LADOT's On-Demand, Shared Ride Program Returns on the Westside

LADOT welcomed the return of the LAnow service, its on-demand, micro-transit service serving the Del Rey, Venice, Mar Vista, and Palms neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles this past Monday, November 1, 2021. The service operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Riders can access the service by downloading the new LAnow smartphone application. Adults and children over five years of age ride for $1.50 one-way, seniors ride for 75 cents, and children under four years of age ride for free. To celebrate the return of LAnow, all trips are free during November.

The LAnow service area includes Los Angeles City Council Districts 5 and 11, represented by Councilmember Mike Bonin of CD 11 and Councilmember Paul Koretz of CD 5.

Former riders should install the new application, either from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, before deleting the old LAnow application from their phones. Former riders with balances on their old LAnow accounts will be able to have those funds transferred to their new accounts by calling 818-493-5211 Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 AM and 2:30 PM once they download the new LAnow application.

The Los Angeles Marathon this Sunday, November 7, 2021

The Los Angeles Marathon is set for this Sunday, November 7, 2021. There will be thousands of participants joining the marathon, prepared to run through the cities of Los Angeles, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. Maintaining the safety of everyone is the top priority of the City of Los Angeles and LADOT, that is why the Joint Information Center (JIC) is established to oversee Emergency Public Information (EPI) for the marathon route.

The JIC will provide updates such as Media Advisories and will be posting information on the UnifiedLA social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. The social media accounts along with the UnifiedLA@lacity.org email will be the official source of Emergency Public Information (EPI) for the Los Angeles Marathon. LADOT encourages everyone to follow the above UnifiedLA social media accounts for the most current information.
