New Metro Bikeshare Stations in Hollywood
LADOT partnered with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and the City of Los Angeles to announce the Metro Bike Share Program's expansion into Hollywood with 12 new bicycle docking stations.
Metro's regular people-powered and electric bicycles will now be available to rent in the Hollywood area. The 12 new docking stations are located near the intersections of Franklin/Fuller, Hollywood/ Highland, Highland/Sunset, Hawthorne/ Orange, McCadden/Hollywood, Cherokee/Hollywood, Whitley/Hollywood, Ivar/Hollywood, Hollywood/Vine, Fountain/Vine, Yucca/Argyle, and McCadden/Santa Monica. The new bicycle docking stations were created in part on community feedback.
“In L.A. we're committed to giving people more affordable and enjoyable ways to get around,” said LADOT General Manager Seleta Reynolds. “Thanks to our partners at Metro, we can now give Angelenos and visitors a new way to get to one of America's most iconic neighborhoods.”
“Addressing the climate emergency demands immediate investment in other affordable modes of transportation that don't rely on fossil fuels,” said Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell, from the 13th Council District. “The expansion of Metro's Bike Share Program in Hollywood will help this effort substantially by creating an easier way for Angelenos to move within and beyond this historic neighborhood.

Central LA: Connect the Green 2021, Walk Audit
LADOT hosted another 'Connect the Green' event to conduct a community walk audit in the Central LA neighborhoods of Koreatown and Greater Wilshire this past Saturday, October 16, 2021. This walk audit was done in partnership with Council District 4, LA Walks, and the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI).

Mid-City Neighborhood Network Design Lab
LADOT, in partnership with the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI) and MIG, will be hosting a remote public workshop on October 26th, 2021 as part of LADOT's Planning for Stress Free Connections. The workshop's purpose is to identify potential street design solutions to reduce cut-through traffic and make bicycles and walking more comfortable and stress-free.

LADOT, in partnership with the University of Southern California, Los Angeles Walks, Public Matters, and USC Kid Watch was a proud participant in the University Park Slow Jams event on October 9, 2021. University Park Slow Jams is a program that built a network of local advocates, including community groups, schools, parents, and youth, to bring awareness and offer solutions to incidents of traffic violence.
