ITS America to Host LADOT, Metro Executives for Upcoming Event

On Thursday, October 7, all interested parties are invited to attend From Data to Action: Moving Forward on How Women Travel, an online event hosted by ITS America that will feature LADOT General Manager Seleta Reynolds and LA Metro Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Wiggins, who will discuss the relationship between gender and transportation access, methods to remove barriers to transportation, and how research is being used to fuel positive transportation policy.

Walk to School Day 2021

Walk to School Day 2021

On Wednesday, October 6, thousands of students, parents, teachers, and school staff across the City of Los Angeles will participate in Walk to School Day 2021, a nationwide safety event highlighting the importance of providing safe routes for students to travel to and from school.

During this year's Walk to School Day, to highlight the importance of traffic safety, Safe Routes to School will temporarily transform Orchard Avenue, New England Street, and 17th Street at Magnolia Avenue Elementary School as part of a pop-up demonstration to enhance the predictability, comfort, and safety of people walking, rolling, and driving to and from the school and surrounding neighborhood. 

LADOT and Safe Routes to School invite all school community members and families to participate in this year’s event.  CicLAvia to Host Anniversary Event on October 10

CicLAvia to Host Anniversary Event on October 10

On Sunday, October 10, CicLAvia will host its second event of the year with CicLAvia: Heart of L.A., which will see participants take to the streets on a course that passes through notable locations such as MacArthur Park, Chinatown, Civic Center, and Mariachi Plaza. A celebration of car-free and open streets, the upcoming event will also bear the distinction of taking place on the 11th anniversary of CicLAvia's first-ever event in Los Angeles, which occurred on October 10, 2010.

Central LA: Connect the Green

Central LA: Connect the Green

LADOT will be hosting a community bike audit in central LA neighborhoods of Koreatown and Greater Wilshire on October 9, 2021, in partnership with Council District 4, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC), and the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI).

This Week in Photos:

LADOT hosted a community event to share information and gather feedback about the San Vicente Safety & Mobility Project. During the event, more than 100 community members stopped at stations along the project corridor to talk with staff and volunteers about how to make the boulevard a safer, calmer, and more comfortable neighborhood thoroughfare.
