Venice Blvd Street Activation Celebration

Join LADOT as we celebrate the completion of Venice Blvd. On Sunday July 23rd from 2 pm to 6 pm, we’ll be enjoying the recent transportation safety improvements along Venice Blvd. There will be a series of guided group bike rides and walks between National and Sepulveda as well as routes through the surrounding neighborhoods highlighting the recent improvements. This is a free event powered by CicLAvia. Venice Blvd will remain open to cars so participants are encouraged to explore the area safely. We will also have a Hub at Venice and Bagley where there will be music, games, activities, and more.

LADOT 2022 Annual Report Highlights Economic Growth

LADOT’s 2022 Annual Report has been released recapping an incredible year of growth and innovation. Our commitment to keep moving LA forward means we are working tirelessly to provide Angelenos with transportation that is sustainable, affordable and keeps your health and safety top of mind.

LADOT plays a vital role in supporting a thriving economy in Los Angeles. This year’s Annual Report reviews some of the major economic milestones LADOT has supported over the last year. 

Special Traffic Operations helps support a thriving city. Whenever we have a major event in Los Angeles, it's the STO engineers who plan and execute traffic management plans to ensure that both attendees and people going about their day can travel.

The Community Assistance Parking Program connects homeless individuals to services. Through this program, individuals can choose one of several community service options in exchange for dismissed citations.

BlueLA provides accessible mobility options for angelenos. This electric vehicle car-share program offers low-income discounts for qualified residents at $1/month. Participants have been able to have access to transportation to do regular day-to-day activities. 

LADOT helps plan for a thriving city. When considering new construction, LADOT conducts reviews to ensure safe traffic flow and ensure that the objectives of the City of Los Angeles are considered.

LADOT Attends The City Multi-Departmental Career Fair

Last week LADOT joined the Los Angeles Department of Public Works and other city organizations at the multi-departmental career fair. Those in attendance had the opportunity to speak with and connect with organizations and employers. During the event, attendees could apply for positions on-the-spot with on-site application assistance as well as in-person interviews and testing. There were also various workshops available to help with job seeking such as dressing for success, writing resumes and cover letters, and interviewing 101. Many city organizations are often looking to hire so more career fair events are expected in city districts throughout the year. You can find a list of city jobs available at Jobs (lacity.org).

LADOT Now Hiring Crossing Guards

LADOT is now accepting applications for new Crossing Guards. Crossing guards keep students safe traveling to and from school and help educate and instill safe, alert walking behaviors in young Angelenos. Our crossing guards are placed at schools throughout the city and help provide experience and judgment to help children navigate a school crossing, while also increasing the visibility of their presence to drivers.

Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky was joined by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), in collaboration with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), to celebrate the completion of over 4 miles of safety and mobility improvements along Venice Blvd. The project includes new crosswalks, signal upgrades, parking-protected bike lanes, and a 24-hour dedicated bus lane.
